1966 FOrd Bronco Restoration. Finished by the team at DP Conversions, and myself. Read below for the story.
1966 Ford Bronco, built for Bozeman Ford Built by our team at DP Conversions.
our goal was to keep this first year bronco period correct, to display and show contrast alongside the delivery of the dealership’s new Bronco in the Summer of 2021.
We received the project as a painted body mated to the rolling chassis along with a pile of old parts to shuffle through. To start, we had a 200 in-line 6 rebuilt by DEMT Engines. This was then backed by the original “three on the tree” manual transmission. After installing the engine, we went through and assembled the engine bay before moving onto the interior.
After some fresh carpet, filling some old holes in the dash, and a reupholstering of the seats and visors, the Bronco was beginning to take shape again. It received a few subtle modern upgrades such as a full re-wire, modern radio, and a set of electric windshield wiper motors in order to do away with the faulty vacuum operated ones.
After many hours spent, it was delivered to the dealership and found it’s spot next to the new Bronco at the Cruisin’ on Main Car Show in Downtown Bozeman in August, 2021!
