Hell’s A-Roarin’ Horse Drive.
For the last 40 years, Warren Johnson and his family have held a horse drive through the town of Gardiner, MT up into the mountains where the family ranch is. He raises these horses for his outfitting business, as well as to sell to other horseman and women throughout the world.
Warren is a local legend, and is a true storyteller, although you might not catch him unless you’re looking for him. He wasn’t leading the drive, instead he was bringing up the corner. You can catch a quick glimpse of him in the last photo, in his denim jacket doing what he loves.
For more than a decade he has held an auction at the end of the horse drive with donated items from numerous supporters. He uses the funds to purchase track chairs for disabled veterans and first responders. All so that he can continue to spread the gift of adventure that the Wild West has to offer.
Inspiring is an understatement.
